Rustic Wedding Chic

What do you get when you combine the historic setting of a lavish farm with a beautiful couple, modern amenities, and elegant music?
A rustic chic wedding, of course!
From the golf carts that carried guests around the farm

 to the rustic looking huppah,

from the hay chairs to the elegant bride,

from traditional Canon in D to the Beatles, the mix was perfect.

Dave and Leah planned a perfect day and we were happy to play our part.

Happy Planning!

"New York, New York"

New York never stops to inspire. As New York musicians we see the city at it's finest: from the world famous stages of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to the orchestra pits of sold out Broadway shows, from intimate clubs to prestigious performance venues. As wedding musicians we see people at their happiest: in love, starting a new life surrounded by friends and family.
Our best clients are the couples that select music that reflects their personality and tells their story. We loved our recent couple who asked us to accompany the groom's father in the rendition of "God Bless the Broken Road" during the ceremony. Their processionals were a mix of contemporary and traditional and included "What a Wonderful World", "Here Comes the Sun" and Pachelbel's Canon. But what brought us to our core was their choice of the recessional.
For the first time in over ten years in the wedding business we were asked to play "New York, New York". At first we were a little surprised by this choice since usually couples choose to pay tribute to their love and not to the city that brought them together. What made this choice really magical was the location of the ceremony.
We played at the Main Street Pebble Beach at Brooklyn Bridge Park , with the skyline of the city as a backdrop and a witness to the nuptials. As we played the song, it resonated within us, and created both powerful and sentimental energy for everyone present. Great moment!

"If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere,
It's up to you, New York, New York".

Feng Shui for Your Wedding Day

Feng shui is the ancient art of balancing energy in the space to promote health and good fortune for people occupying it.
Your wedding day and the feel of it will be cherished and remembered by you and your guests for years to come. Add these Feng shui elements to bring harmony and auspicious energy to your special day.

Something Red

Red is the Chinese color of luck and prosperity, symbol of love and romance in the West. If you are not ready to wear a traditional Chinese red wedding dress, incorporate red in your bouquet and décor.

Something Borrowed
Things carry energy. If you are going to follow the tradition of borrowing something for your wedding, make sure you borrow from someone who has a great marriage and happy family life.

Decor

To create a good flow of energy in the room make sure your venue has plenty of light. Shaded parts and dark corners can be “fixed” by placing candles or objects that reflect light.
Promote harmony among your guests by choosing round or oval tables for your reception.
Mirrors and crystal chandeliers that reflect food on the table symbolically double food and therefore your wealth. No chandeliers? Place crystal candlesticks on the tables.

Sound

Wedding String Quartet

Music brings great energy to the space. Incorporate it into your ceremony and reception to bring harmony and joy to your day.

Happy planning!
